If I were you I'd be more worried about the government lies which have your mind melded to the global warming theories.  It's a brainwashing technique which tones down the true injuries to our planet.  Try: atmosphere thinning/depletion, bought on by over one thousand barrels of oil being burned every second.  84 million barrels per day and growing.  Such heat is equivalent to the heat of many nuclear bombs.  Temperature variations as such is the planet Mars with over 300 degree Celcius temperature variations each Martian day because of a thin atmosphere, only 1/200th that of Earth's atmosphere.  The general public cannot be allowed to gain access to the terrible truth of manmade pollution, or thereby, the present government and all of their corporations will be destroyed.  Pass it around.

What actually happens is that the green house effect happens because of carbon emmisions or carbon dioxide. 1/3 of our green house gasses are created because of the world over population. Which is created by carbon dioxide. But there is not just the carbon that is doing this. The u.v. rays from the sun are starting to penetrate our atmosphere making a greater hole in our ozone layer. But this isn't a big deal because the earth, though some may not agree, regernerates at a stellar rate. This is actually crossing out the damage of what the humans are doing. But if we go with Malthis theory of global warming, we should let all those die who will be flooded out by the melt of the polar ice caps. This in theorie would work but, according to our fourth amendment we should to anything to prevent crule and unusual punishment (that was suppost to be funny!) But the answer to your orignal question is yes and no, there is the help of carbon dioxide but also the heat genrated by our surroundings helping with the greenhouse effect.
