  1. Sign in to the group.

Near the top of page, click on "Edit Membership".

On the next page that comes up, scroll down to Step 3. Message Preference.

There will be two preferences available: Traditional and Fully Featured.  One of those will have a dot in the circle in front - If Traditional does not have the dotted circle, you are not using Traditional preference.

You can change this by clicking one time on the blank dot in front of "Traditional".  Then click Save Changes at bottom of page.

  2. the info already stated is good, but I just wanted to add that traditional is individual mail, and if it is a high volume posting group, you'll have to maintain your e-mail account so you don't bounce. you do have the choice of Traditonal or Fully Featured, they are both for the setting of individual mail and really, this choice is yours since it is your mail option given to you the member within a yahoo group

  3. If you have already joined the group, you can go to edit membership (little link top left) next to your user name and email address.    There you can set your email and message preference (fully featured or traditional).      I believe once you apply to join, you again can select between these two choices.

  4. In your personal settings, you select the style of email you prefer.  "Traditional" is one of the options as is "Fully Featured" when you click on the 'Edit Membership' link at the top of the page when you are in that group's area in Yahoogroups.
