The guy at F I M told me that he does this to maintain the pool chlorine?

He recommended that I Shock the pool with 8 or so quick desolve chlorine tabs. (in skimmer) and daily to add 2 quick desolving chlorine tabs. I have been doing it for a week. No green pool, but I don't see that recommended anywhere else. Does anyone else do that? What is your remedy? my pool is 4ft by 24 round.

It should work however my parents don't shock our pool, we just have a pool cleaner who comes to clean it every week, they put chlorine in it, they have these special pool cleaning sucking brooms to sweep up the inside. And we have a continuosly working pool cleaning machine.
