As stupid as it sounds , he had his nose and other bits and pieces bitten and ripped off by other chimps..

These are aggressive wild creatures..If some are stupid enough to want to keep them , they deserve everything they get..

I feel sorry for the chimp..

Mr. Davis, the man in the picture, was fighting to keep his own Chimp, Moe and waging a legal war with the authorities.

During this time, Moe, who has gone missing of late, was in an animal sanctuary.  The Davis' were visiting him for his birthday (In 2005) when 2 other chimps attacked them, biting off his nose, testicles, and foot.

EDIT:  Yes a Chimp did that.  Took his testicles and foot too!
