The head on my Ryobi gas string trimmer no longer turns when I start it.?

Question

It is not a shaft drive, it is a worm drive (?). Should I try to fix it or just buy a new one? (this one was $140 5 years ago)

wow you are lucky, 5 yrs, mine lasted two, get a straight shaft next time, other than that, dismantle, and grease any parts that move, more than likely you will find it is worn. Ryobi site has instruction sheets
