  1. you could have bone spur they are horrible and there are pain meds out here for that what i did was take it for year an dthen i decided to put insurgery and get rid of it saw on xray. well the day of the surgery it was gone no pain. i was lucky it was gone so take care.

    very possible.  Your calcaneus is one of the most solid, tough bones of the body.  If you hurt it directly, it could be a stress fracture or secondary to any number of surrounding tendon issues

    I saw these often in the military.

    Try rest, anti-inflammatory meds like Motrin (with food) and an analgesic  (Tylenol).  Consider warm soaks.
