How are people saying it didn't happen???? I heard that for the first time the other day at my job (I work in a nursing home). I think that's ridiculous. I didn't know what to do, it was upsetting the other residents. And I can't exactly tell them what to say and what not to say. I tried to change the subject for them but it didn't work.

How did people come to that conclusion? That is just didn't happen?

  1. I don't understand it either. There are so many stories, pictures, and other evidence to prove it did happen.

I think some people refuse to believe something so awful could happen.  Then you have your conspiracy theorists who can turn anything into something else.

I say keep trying to change the subject if it comes up again.

  2. With so much overwhelming evidence, it's hard to imagine how anyone can deny it.

  3. What kind of arguments use the deniers?  I'd be interested to know.

  4. Germany still denies the Holocaust to this day.

  5. I have no idea how people can be so ignorant about that! Are they trying to say that all of these survivors who are trying to block out those memories are lying!? That they tattooed themselves with numbers for pleasure? Those are the things that really tick me off. That's like saying that there aren't such thing as dogs. Whoever thinks that the Holocaust never happened is an utter moron!

  6. people probably came to that conclusion because it was to horrible to imagine.

  7. Some people want to pretend it didn't happen because it was so inhumane.

  8. Don't let these conspiracy theorists get to you. Some guy said that to me and he was honestly just trying to get me to argue. It didn't work. Some people are ignorant and I would not let it get to me. Just ignore it as they have ignored the world around them. Believe me, hon, you can sit there and scream but it will not do a d**n thing.

  9. when bad things happen sometimes ppl try to ignore them and pretend it didn't happen but when you do that it is so much easier for history to repeat itself. we must always remember our history the good and the bad and learn form it

  10. Yes, you are so right, it is a ridiculous thing to say, but it comes from wanting to hide from the truth because let us face it, it was dreadful and beyond a decent person's imagination!

I happen to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses and do know that a lot of my spiritual brothers and sisters suffered terribly for staying neutral during the war and refused to give salute Hitler, etc.  Witnesses used to have to wear a purple triangle.

I did not know any of this before I became a witness, and like you, I was absolutely horrified with it all, to the extent that I could not sit through any films based on the holocaust!!

Again, I believe strongly it is people who either cannot face the truth or ones who believe they are being clever!

  11. i for one believed it happened i am very intrested in this topic.

but i think because everyone who lived are dying off from old age and other things.

i think its just easier for people to also believe that something that horrible and ridiculous did not happen!

i know this is not a great answer but i hope it helped even a little.

  12. Because they are racists

  13. Old people are wicked racist, what do you expect?

  14. The same kind of people say we never walked on the moon, Viet Nam and Iraq never happened, Katrina was caused by satellites changing the weather and disciplining your children is bad for their self esteem. Don't let it upset you too much, some people get a kick out of hurting others without cause.

  15. some still hail the man who started it and some have not changed their views, the older you are the harder it is to change it

  16. they are all ignornt and too scared to admit it. They cant face life so they tell others wat they tell them selves to avoid everything all togther. They kno it happened their just cowards.

  17. Ignorance would be one cause, prejudicewould be another. It seems that religious fervor may be another. Bear in mind that freedom of information is not always valid in many locations, and a person who believes themselves well acquainted with history that does not include this, and who have not had any open contact with people who have this background may well have valid (to them) reasons for denying this part of history

  18. I                     I generally  ignore those who deny  the Holocaust. But. sometimes as an old ranger , I whip them ,. usually they end up    carted away to the local  morgue. T hey simply want to argue or get attention. That can be fatal; to them . I read that some Czech farmers impaled  a few with pitch forks with their intestines hanging out there in Ceske Bujovice.

  19. People are ignorant, and say, what ever they are taught.

    Its sad...

  20. Some people are just very narrow minded...the Holocaust did happen and it was terrible. I feel so sorry for the thousands of Innocent lives that were taken and affected by that terrible time in history.

  21. many reasons...

ignorant, because that's the way they were brought up,

or maybe they just don't want to believe that humans are capable of such a thing.

    it's a scary thought.

  22. Were the people saying this German? Maybe it's guilt. I've heard those "fairy tales" myself. Sometimes it's hard for people to believe such horrors were going on while so many sat around and did nothing. A lot of countries just turned their heads while these monstrosities were going on. Again, it's a guilt thing. How can they think we could just pretend it didn't happen is beyond me. It happened alright. What I say to people who think this is... "yeah, go ahead and play that little fantasy out in your head enough and maybe one day, you'll really believe that c**p."

  23. The Jews did not suffer in Germany because there was no Holocaust. Actually it was the Jews that was torturing the poor blond haired deprived Germans. Those tattoos on the Jews arms and hands that are still alive today (by the grace of God) are really there because they want to be hip.

    OTHER CONSPIRACIES TO THINK ABOUT:

    1. We knew the Japanese were going to bomb Pearl Harbor before they did. I mean come-on President Roosevelt liked the thought of our boys baking inside the Battle Ship Arizona before they died. The President was looking for a better way to get a good nights sleep.

    2. America did not land on the Moon. We payed billions of dollars for the 360 foot Saturn 5 rocket so we could look at it and say wow that is a big rocket. We kept approx. 400,000 technicians, scientists and construction contractors quiet, with zero leaks to the public. The rocks that we thought that came from moon and have proved to be from the moon are really from the Pacific Ocean.

    3. The Mafia whacked JFK, via the Russian connection, via the Cuban connection.... The man on the grassy knoll was a CIA agent acting on orders from Giancana from Chicago and Marcello from New Orleans, with duplicity from Castro and Kruschev....true story.

    4. Aliens landed in Roswell and we transported them to Area 51 to back engineer their technology, where do you think the stealth air craft came from? Again, we kept it secret by brain washing the thousands of workers who were in on the scam.

    5. The Moon we see every night is really not there along with the planets, stars as well as the Planet Killing Asteroids. Those were put there by the evil United States to toy with our minds.

    6. The fossils of homo eructus, neandertals and 15 other hominids that are extinct were put there by paleotologists, archeologists, and assorted rock hounds to enhance their careers. Creationism is the only reality.

    7. America is a conspiracy and is a fake country and none of us Americans really live here.

    8. I was never born so this response to your question is a fake.

  24. Someone up there said Germany "still" denies the Holocaust; that is absurd, you can actually go to jail for the crime of "Holocaust denial" in Germany and several other countries.

Yes, of course it happened.  However, some of the numbers involved and original allegations have been legitimately questioned.  Andy Rooney, the famous commentator on 60 Minutes, who was also a war correspondent in WW2, once chided the orthodox history with the words "What, isn't 4 million bad enough?".  Also, it has since been acknowledged that none of the actual extermination camps were on Germany's home territory, they were all in Poland or other eastern land.  There is a famous photo of a small tin shack at the Dachau camp, in Germany, bearing the sign, "Delousing Station", which was circulated for many years as being a gas chamber for mass murder.  It has since been conceded that it is, after all, just a delousing station.

One of the more gruesome stories stated that human bodies were boiled down and used to make soap; I believe that this too has been disproven.  It is true, though, that bodies were looted for gold teeth, and hair cut for stuffing mattresses and blankets for soldiers.

So bottom line -- a small hard-core of troublemakers has taken the fact that a few Holocaust stories were false, and run with it to the conclusion that it never happened.

Sorry to run on so long, but the answer was a bit more complex than just yes or no!
