Every time I would sleep at a friends house, when I moved away to college... I wasn't tired. Now when I go home for visits I sleep all the time. My family and family friends have noticed the same thing. What would cause this?

  1. Hi, First check with the local police department and see if that address was ever used for drugs, you might be in an old crack house, but don't give all the problems as they may be required to go to the health department. Then, you need to contact a home inspector equiped to inspect for Radon. Your local gas company should inspect for any pressure drop or leak. It is critical that you have this checked, like now! If everyone is drinking the water, it could be contaminated, you can have your local health department check that, just call them and get instructions for taking a sample and take it to them. If these aspects are not the problem, then try an environmental inspector (bucks paid here) who can take samples and have things like flooring, furniture, drapes, etc. tested for other issues. After that, You might also try your local health department, then explaing the problem, hope they don't condem the place and make you move out!

If all of this fails, then your house is probably built over an indian burial ground, just place a hawk's feather and a small pack of good pipe tobacco under your pillow, be sure to say your prayers! LOL

Good luck, and really, check with the gas company right now! B

  2. Hello s e,

Does your home cause everyone in it to be tired or just you.

If everyone is affected, I would call the gas company and ask them to test for gas leakage. From that point I would contact the public health department and see if they have any answers.

If you are singularly suffering, I would suspect you have depression, anxiety or some psychological issues that might best be resolved by counseling.

        Good Luck

  3. Have a qualified person check out the house. I had a grand daughter who suffered breathing problems, nose bleeds, etc. Specialists examined her and found nothing. She came to stay with us and within days she was okay. They checked the house and found a type of mold that was effecting her, and they told us that some mold can be fatal to some people, black mold, etc

  4. First, go get a check up from a doctor, truth is it might just be you.

Secondly, if everything check out, have a Environmental Inspector come out and check for gas leaks, radon, and everything else you can imagine.

    Good luck

  5. Well, hopefully it's not a chemical thing like a gas leak!

Colors and environment can do this.... dark rooms, certain colors sooth people... over size chairs and pillows... can make you feel tired.  Ever notice how hotels lobbies are bright, crazy patterns and hard wool furniture?  It's to keep you moving....  They actually design office furniture to keep people awake and active.

And it could be that you are emotionally crashing.... undraining and unstressing in your comfort zone.  Keep yourself on a tight sleeping schedule and make yourself get up and stay active.

  6. I doubt that it's the house.  I suspect that it is you.
