Epic Games, the developers of the upcoming Infinity Blade Dungeons title for the iPad 3, claim that Apple’s device can more than just rival current generation consoles.

Apple held a conference yesterday during which they unveiled the...wait for it...iPad 3. The announcement came as no surprise to anyone as the electronics company just made the news, which everyone already knew, official.
One interesting fact for gamers that came out of that conference was Epic Games claiming that the iPad 3 was more powerful than the current generation of home consoles, namely the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.
Dr. Michael Capps, the President of Epic Games, was quoted saying, “The Unreal engine is unleashing the power of the new iPad” which has “more memory and higher screen resolution than the Xbox 360 or PS3 (PlayStation 3).”
The President of one of the most respected studios in the industry was one of many prominent figures in attendance.
As for the specs of the new iPad, well the display boasts 264ppi when it comes to screen sharpness and can the 5-Megapixel camera can record High-Definition video at 1080p.
At the same time the A5x chip has quad-core graphics, which for a tablet is rather impressive and also supports 4G LTE, which for those who do not know, is faster than 3G.
When it comes to pricing, well the iPad 3 will set consumers back between $499 (16GB), $599 (32GB) and $699 (64GB).
It should also be pointed out that the new iPad will not be any slimmer than its predecessor as it is 9.4mm thick.
