After taking a look at the specs of the iPad 3 in the previous article it is time to turn our attention towards Epic Games’ upcoming title, Infinity Blade: Dungeons.
For those who did not read the first part of the article here is a quick recap. Apple unveiled the iPad 3 in their recent conference and revealed the specs for the third-generation of the tablet.
The most notable of which were the fact that it can record High-Definition video at 1080p, has a A5x chip with quad-core graphics and a retina display.
Of course, the pricing for the iPad 3 was also revealed which ranged between $499 and $699 for the various models.
Moving on now to the gaming side of the iPad, which for those who do not know, is quite significant and the President of Epic Games, Dr. Michael Capps, had plenty to say about the iPad 3 and gaming.
He pitched both the iPad 3 and Epic Games’ latest offering, Infinity Blade: Dungeons, together with the Unreal engine when he said, “Just like Apple has raised the bar of mobile computing, the Infinity Blade franchise has continually re-defined expectations
for mobile gaming.”
He continued, “With Infinity Blade: Dungeons we continue the tradition of melding exciting gameplay with beautiful, rich worlds powered by Unreal Engine technology; and Apple’s new iPad allows us to push the boundaries even further.”
The Doctor when one step further stating that the iPad 3 would give current generation consoles a run for their money, “The Unreal engine is unleashing the power of the new iPad” which has, “more memory and higher screen resolution than the Xbox 360 or PS3.”
As for the game itself, it turns out that Dungeons will take advantage of a new camera system that takes players “in and out of battle”.
The game is also set as a prequel to the other games in the series as it is set thousands of year before the events of the first Infinity Blade game.
All in all, the iPad 3 has plenty to live up to when it releases on the 16th of March.
