The ideal car for me? Help plz!?

Question

Im a 17 yr old girl and soon i'll be getting a car!

Im wanting something around 2003-2007, but i dont know what type of car i should get!

im very intrepid, i like speed, but i want a "classy-looking" car that is also affordable....

any ideas?

As much as I don't like Toyota, the Scion TC's are excellent cars, they're cool-looking, and hold their resale value as well.  If you like the more modern box-y looking cars, the other two models are good as well.

I'm not sure of your budget.

I have a Mazda 3 and I love it. It's been getting good reviews. It's peppy, good with gas, looks cool and was cheaper than a Civic or Corolla. Maybe that's worth looking at?

Usually how I shop for cars is this though:

1. I figure out my budget.

2. I check consumer reports for which ones have been reliable for the years I'm looking at.

3. I come up with a list from them that seem like would fit my needs.

4. I drive them to see if I like them. Sometimes a dealer is a good way to drive several types.

5. I try to get one from a private party that hasn't been wrecked. (The first question to ask is if it's been wrecked!).

If you do go through a dealer, do an online search to look for common scams dealers try to get you on. For example, trying to get you to pay for window etching is a waste of money that people end up paying for.

You're 17,  forget about "speed" and think safety and reliability.

Toyota Solara or Mitsubishi Eclipse would be a good car for you.

You should get a fully loaded 2003 Chevrolet cavalier. I know it sounds kind of old and ew. But I have one very similar to it, a bit older and it looks classy and at the same time, it is fuel officiant, VERY fuel officiant and has some nice features and if you get a newer one than that it will be even nicer. Also look at KIA optima and the Chevy Malibu. Good luck in your search!!

Toyota Corolla S? Acura RSX or TSX?

Subaru Impreza? Dodge SRT4? (though more like a racer look cars as oppose to classy look, but nice quality cars)

Cars from those years are either not affordable, not fast or not classy looking. These traits do not coincide.

a 1997-1999 Nissan Maxima is pretty classy (the new ones are overdone and heavy, which makes for a slow ride)

a 1990-1996 Nissan 300ZX while being a no-nonsense sports car does have a good deal of class to it, it's lights look like a Lamborghini's even.

a 1993-1995 RX-7 is also a sports car but the door handle is positioned next to the window which gives a very clean look to the body.

a 1993-1998 Toyota Supra has one of the sleekest shapes of any car ever made, also has 8 circle shaped lights in the rear which look rather unique. Again, sports car.

There are plenty of others.
