Studying for SVQ III early care and education. Looked in two test books child care and education by t bruce & c meggitt plus early years care and education level iii by p tassoni. Any additional websites that might help me with unit c16 observe and assess the development and behaviour of children. Or any other text books. Finding this section quite hard as a child minder. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

  2. Tasks must be relevant to the age and stage of development of the child and the desired outcome of the assessment. they must be held in the correct context for instance social assessment can only be done in a group situation. The role of the observer can be either to facilitate that is to show the child what to do giving clear and precise instructions or demonstrations. Or to be unobtrusive--this is easier if the children are used to the observer being in the room.

    Hope this helps.
