  1. Nothing, there are good reasons for this ban. I'm sure your dog is a sweet dog but many owners of such dogs are not - they can be very dangerous. Sorry! Good luck finding a place that will allow your pet!

  2. Unfortunately, there's not much that can be done. All we can do is keep getting the word out that dogs "like children" are what they are raised to be. Ignorant people will always fear an animal based on it's breed. All that can be done is try to educate as many as possible. Wish i could be more help, but irresposible pet owners and quick to blame the breed media keep fueling the fires of ignorence.

  3. find a different park to go to with your dog. id say your dog is fine . but there is that one time you might be saying get back dog . and your dogs not listening.

  4. contact the endangered breed association

  5. Certain breeds are banned by insurance companies based on bite injuries and fatalities. Pitt Bulls, Rotts, and Dobs have a higher rate of incidence then other breeds. There are several factors that have caused this, breeders have bred the dogs to be fighters, guard dogs, the size of the dogs, the strength of the jaw. If a pit bull clamps on to you it will do more damage then a yorkie, simply do to size and strength. Another thing is, like with children, some pet parents do not teach their pet children proper manners and what is acceptable behavior. They allow then to act up. So it is a combination of things that have caused the insurance industry to ban breeds. The amount of money that is paid out on an dog bite claim can be astronomical, physical damage to the person and the mental anguish. There are great pet parents who have this bred and have raised their pets to be well behaved. However insurance is a business that is based on risk. And the main purpose of any business is to make money, so thus the bans. Good luck finding a campsite that will take your dog. One thing that may help you with your dog is to have it become AKC certified good citizen, that does make a difference with insurance companies.

  6. Sadly, I don't think there is anything you can

do but find a site that will allow such breeds.

I'm sure if you look you'll find one, there are a lot of camp sites

that allow all kind of breeds.
