The truck fell on the axel right where the wheels should have been (rotor assembly?) I was in Baja and was able to get the wheel back on and drive home to SF, but it squeaks sometimes, especially when making a left turn. What's the worst case scenario..what could this cost?

  1. maybe a new rotor assy and worst possible the streering linkage ... maybe around 500 shouldnt be more i had a blazer do the same thing goin down the road

  2. Well, the rotor takes most of the hits from potholes etc. when it has a tire on it, but a direct hit to the rotor can't do it any good...a tire at least cushions the impact. I'd say you might need a new rotor assembly at best case, and maybe a hub if it hit hard enough to bend the axle spindle any. But I doubt you'll have any major damage from such a small fall. Still, be safe and get it checked out to make sure no brake components were damaged, if it fell onto the caliper itself, that could cause a brake failure down the road if it cracked it. I'd have a good look at where it hit when it fell, get a 2nd and 3rd pair of eyes to check it, and if you don't see anything suspicious, just drive it.
