  2. The answer is very true.  The jet stream acts like railroad tracks so to speak.  Low pressure systems tend to follow right along the jet streams like a train on a railroad track.  

    And also the jet stream has a big effect on temperatures.  In the winter, the jet stream determines who will experience cold and who won't.  If the jet stream comes down from canada and goes as far south as oklahoma, then all the states due north of oklahoma will be on the cold side of the jet stream.  I can go on all day about how the jet stream affects weather but i will stop right here.

  3. Yeah, its definately true. Both side of the jet stream have different weather in terms of air temperature, dew point, and humidity. The jet stream is what drives storms and fronts across the nation, and can also prevent a storm from going certain places.

    But the U.S is not the only place like this. The jet stream is all over the world, and is one of the most important factors for determing weather and climate pattersn for certain parts of the world.
