Arbgre55, yes the nfl is competitive, which means the jets are. Favre will be playing on a new passion now.... revenge. Favre wants to show the packers up so badly, who can't feel it. The jets will be underdogs in many of those bigger games like san diego, new england, and seattle. The number one key in making a qb great, is a solid o-line. if a qb just has that, it doesn't matter whoever catching out there.

Huge Jets fan here, and I too am psyched about this trade. I am not quite as optimistic as you are though.

But what people don't realize is that adding Favre is just one of the moves the Jets made. They spent 140 million on moves this offseason and got better on both sides of the ball.

I won't make any predictions on their record or anything, but I'm going to say that I'm pretty confident they'll make the playoffs.

They'll lose both games to the Pats, The SD game will be a loss (Favre won't learn the offense for a while) The Seattle game is most likely a loss, and they'll lose at least 1 to the Bills. That's 5 losses right there, and I'm sure there will be more. They can add all the talent they want, but until they get them to work together, figure out a good way to use everyone to their fullest, and utilize a good game plan (not likely with Mancini running the show) They won't be a division leader.

It's nice that ur optimistic, buts lets be real: they will lose to New England twice, San Diego, Cincy, Buffalo once, Tennessee, and Seattle. That's 7 losses, jet's go 9-7. dont get hyped.

Just like you, I got excited when the Bills traded for Drew Bledsoe.  That ended up being a bit of a disappointment.  I'm just saying...don't get your hopes up.  Favre is a great QB, no doubt, but he won't be the almighty savior for your Jets.

15-1, the jets arent that good....theyre not gonna win the east either, but they will make the playoffs

they tremendously upgraded both their offensive and defensive lines and now have a great quaterback

they also have coles and cotchery, and a great new rookie tight end in keller, so im optimistic, but 15-1? no

they can beat the patriots in week 2 but they will lose 4-6 games
