The jockeys set with their rides for the Masters International Jockeys’ Challenge at Meydan, gunning the 2012 Dubai World Cup Carnival
The patience of the participating riders in the Meydan Masters International Jockeys’ Challenge that engines the 2012 Dubai World Cup Carnival has been tested and awarded as the riding beauties that each one of the jockey has been allotted for the
Al Rashidiya Trial presented by Longines have been declared as for 5th January, 2012.
Richard Hills, who is the last year’s champion, will be riding, Derbaas, while Frankie Dettori will be riding, Sea Lord. Mickael Barzalona will have, Laajooj, as his mount for the Challenge and Christophe Soumillon will ride, Mahbooba, who was the
last year’s winning filly.
Mahmood Al Zarooni is being represented in the Al Rashidiya Trial by Sea Lord and Laajooj. Besides these two, the strongest contestants for the Trial stand out to be Mahbooba, Happy Today and Derbaas.
Mahbooba, won the Debutante on 27th April, 2010 at Scottsville and then won the Golden Slipper at Clairwood on 3rd July, 2010. On 13th January, Mahbooba, came second in the UAE 1000 Guineas Trial sponsored by Longines
at Meydan where she was ridden by Christophe Soumillon.
Last year on 3rd February, she won the UAE 1000 Guineas Sponsored by Etisalat at Meydan. She finished second in the UAE Oaks Sponsored by Al Tayer Motors at Meydan on 24th February. The UAE Derby Sponsored By The Saeed & Mohammed
Al Naboodah Group at Meydan on 26th March 2011.
Derbaas, is perhaps the fiercest opponent for Mahbooba despite her endless accomplishments, as the 6-year-old bay horse won the Al Fahidi Fort Sponsored By Commercial Bank Of Dubai at Meydan on 17th February 2011. He also won the Falcon
Lounge Trophy at Meydan on 20th January 2011.
On 30th December 2010, Derbaas won the Meydan Hotel at Meydan. Prior to the 30th December race, he won the Meydan Hotel on 25th November 2010.

Sustaining a four race win streak at the Meydan Race course is not a small deal as it reflects Derbaas’s expertise on that track and the ease and confidence that he has built up gradually race after race at the track.
The entries of Mahmood Al Zarooni should not be underestimated, they too have the potential and talent of challenging and threatening the opponents specially when paired up with the top of the line jockeys, who know their ways to victory like the back
of their hands.
