My cat had kittens exactly 10 days ago. (August 15th 2008) and i read online that they open their eyes 5-8 days after their born. And none of them have their eyes open yet. Is this normal?

  1. Call the Vet and find out for sure the time frame.  It seems my kittens took about 2 weeks.  Maybe they don't want to see what is out there!

  2. check to see that the mother has cleaned their eyes properly and there is no gunge gluing them together .... if there is then gently wipe their eyes with a cotton wool ball dipped in sterile water.... if this doesn't work then get them to the vet to be checked over .... there may be something elese.....

  3. go to the vet

  4. Yes yes yes you have nothing to worry about. All kittens are different by weight breed time of birth. Somtimes it can take up to two weeks for some kittens.

  5. 10-14 days old is when they typically open their eyes.

  6. Vet

  7. I always heard it was 10-14 days.

  8. I would say wait another day or two because every kitten is different and these kittens just might take another day or two (: good luck. if they still dont have them open in 3 more days, THEN i would go to the vet.  nothing to be worried about though.

  9. Kittens are curious and mischievious... my guess is that one of them saw you online reading about kittens and thought it would be a neat trick to keep their eyes shut for an extra week or so.
