  1. It is because of waves. Some of the area is softer than ohters, when waves come and hit the costal area even very soft, the sand at soft area will be brought back to sea togather will sea water when the sea water return back to sea. As a result, irregular costal area will be formed after a period of time.


  2. An irregular coastline forms where rocks of various erosional resistance are found. These rocks tend to be perpendicular to the shore and erode a different rates. The softer rocks erode much faster and leave the resistant rocks protruding.
