    NASA in conjunction with scientists from US Geological Survey & National Snow & Ice Data Centre is developing a global inventory of all world's glaciers. According to them, the glacier 30.4 km long and 2 - 4 km wide is the largest in Himalayan ranges. The glacier is continuously receding since 1780. Over past 25 years, it has receded more than 850 meters.
