The last stage of Q-school welcomes the Canadian crew as well
The penultimate stage of the PGA Tour Qualifying tournament was programmed from the 17th of November to the 20th of this month and has sent Matthew Richardson to the last leg of Q school.
The qualifying round held in Florida witnessed the Canadian golfer carding a 68 on Saturday. Richardson played Saturday’s play while standing in 29th position on the event’s leader board.
However, the English born golfer ended the day at 13th place after collecting a mixture of birdies and bogeys.
According to the scorecard, the golfer, who later moved to Woodbridge after his birth, bejewelled his card with birdies amounting to 6, with only 2 in bogeys.
The next stage of Q school will be starting on the 1st of December and is a 108 hole struggle scheduled near Orlando with a collection of 150 players from different countries. From the previous round, only the top 19 players have been able to
seep through the tight competition and will be competing against a tough field of players.
Richardson is the winner of the Walker Cup held in 2005 as an amateur and has played the European, Nationwide as well as the Canadian Tours.
Other than Richardson, Bryan DeCorso of Guelph managed to card a 72 at the last round of the penultimate round of Q school and finished the day in 30th place.
Moving on to the golfer, who won the Canadian men's amateur championship twice, Cam Burke, failed to play a damage proof game. The golfer from New Hamburg carded an 82 in total that placed him at 67.
Those Canadians who made it to the final stage include a collection of some great golfers belonging to Vancouver, Kingston and Victoria. The successful list thus holds Richard Lee, Matt McQuillan and David McKenzie in the successful crew.
The golfer from Kingston carded a 70 in the final round of the event and ended at the third place tied. The fifth place was grabbed by Lee while the 12th place was held by McKenzie tied. According to the score cards, the golfers carded a 70, a
72 and a 75 respectively.
From Panama City, Ted Brown grabbed a place due to his birdie attempt at the play off in the top 19. California’s Chris Baryla achieved 13th place after carding a 69.
