the part where it closes is loose or something. It wont close. The little metal piece still goes in to the square where it is supposed to latch but it wont stay, it just pops back open. Outside of buying a new dryer or replacing the piece , is there anything I can do to fix this. Right now I have a lot of tape on the door to keep it closed so I can dry my clothes

  1. If you are not able to fix this without replacing the latch, go to www.repairclinic.com to find the part you need.  You can buy it there along with instructions on how to change it.

  2. ok if we all bought a new dryer cause door wouldn't close someone, not us, would be rich.  You need to get the model # (usually around the door) and call or look up, on the net the manufacturer, or an appliance parts co.  This is easy and the part is usually around $20. You can fix it yourself or your bf can.

  3. I had this same problem and it is a really easy fix. I was able to reach the repair/parts place and tell them the kind of dryer and they gave instructions on how to fix with the part. So contact your local supplier and do it yourself. Good Luck.

  4. Take her apart and have a peak at it.
