NO she was not born in hertfordshire, her mother and father were on holiday in august 1900, and she was born in a posh appartment by what is known today as Pickadilly, sorry about the spelling but you know where I mean.

Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon was the fourth daughter and the ninth of ten children of Claude George Bowes-Lyon, Lord Glamis, (later 14th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne), and his wife, Cecilia Nina Cavendish-Bentinck.
