  1. Plants need sunlight to produce food through the process of photosynthesis.

  2. Any source of light not necessary sunlight ..but even monochromatic light can help plants produce food...but plants need light to proccess tiz..when its kept in dark it uses its stored glucose/ food to survive..but eventually it will wither/wilt.

  3. The light is one of the limiting factor for the process of photosynthesis. The leaves contains the mesophyll tissue that contains abundent chloroplast that absorbs the light for photochemical reactions.

in absence of light the photochemical reaction would not takes place. hence leaf the plant kept in dark would not produces the starch. the plant utilizes all the reserved starch and becomes yellow. as destarched plant.

  4. No photosynthesis happening in the dark.

  5. The leaves are used by plants to absorb light and use the light to make their food. The food is glucose, pretty much starch.

Plants in the dark don't get enough sunlight to make into energy, which is why they dont have much starch.
