This led to his retirement since the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) ignored him for national team selection in the following tours.
Younis was known as an aggressive fast bowler and was considered to be the one of the quickest bowlers of his time. However, due to various injuries to his back, Waqar Younis had to cut his career short. Like every other superstar, controversies also surrounded this Pakistani cricket hero. His differences with fellow teammate and former Captain Wasim Akram are those that brought a lot of controversy in the media. Both were strong players in the same team which is why it was hard for them to understand each other. Even then, the two W’s had a wonderful chemistry on the field. The two W's demolished many top-class opening players in the international arena.
