The lineup for the $110,000 Saeed & Mohammed Al Naboodah Group to be held on 21st January
The fourth and fifth meeting of the Dubai World Cup Carnival, 2012, which falls on the 20th and 21st of January is sponsored by the most generous partners, Saeed & Mohammed Al Naboodah Group, specially
the second day that features the $110,000 Saeed & Mohammed Al Naboodah Group Handicap, raced over a distance of 1,400 metres.
Ernst Oertel trained five-year-old Capital Attraction, who struck a victory at Meydan on 31st December, 2011, will be racing in his season’s debut at the same race course again, and this time she will be accompanied by the 2011
Dubai World Cup winning jockey, Mirco Demuro.
Six-year-old Canwinn has been victorious twice during the Carnival. First in November and then in December.
After getting defeated in the Longines Master Collection Moon Phases on 5th January, this will be his fourth attempt to post a third victory during the Carnival.
As Godolphin Racing cannot stay behind with its immaculate preparation for the races, in the absence of the retained jockey, Frankie Dettori, Mahmood Al Zarooni trained Bridgefield will be racing through the track with Mickael Barzalona.
Al Zarooni said:
"That was a very pleasing comeback run and the drop in trip should not be a problem. He is drawn in the middle so hopefully Mickael will be able to get a good position and we expect a good run”.
For Doug Watson, the draw in this race seems to be one of the favourable signs for being successful in the race as he mentioned while entering Famous Warrior in the race:
"The draw has done us few favours again but the horse is in good form and likes the surface. The drop back in trip should suit him but we would have preferred a low draw”.
Saeed bin Suroor will be sending in his dual attack, Al Aasifh with Silvestre De Sousa, and the other entry, Global City will be riding with Kieren Fallon.
Saeed bin Suroor has doubled the probability of winning the race as opposed to Mahmood Al Zarooni.
Others that complete the lineup include Zabarajad, Ip Man, Iguaza Falls and Swinging Sixties, the entries being from the UK, Singapore and France.
