It's about 7 years old and it drives me crazy! My dad refuses to get a new TV so is there any way I can stop this horrible noise? If it helps at all, messing with the volume does not help. It is on and off, about every 5 minutes.

  1. Well you have ringing coils and ferrite beads in your TV set....

Ferrite beads look like little black beads on a piece of wire .....

Coils look like copper wire wrapped around a metal stump.....

If you're brave enough, you can unplug the TV set, get a bottle of superglue and put a drop of it on every ferrite bead and black metal stump you find on the right side of the electronics board....especially around the big black box with the RED WIRE (could be a white box too) on the right side of the board....

    It might help....

The reason you get the ringing is because the stump or the bead vibrates....stop the vibration and you stop the ringing...
