  1. Who's the leader of the boy's choir? I think it's Jack, right? Well any way, I think Ralph is the best leader because he's calm in times of trouble and doesn't become corrupt by Jack's bullying and negative influence on the others. Obviously, I think Jack is the worst leader because he's totally focused on what would benefit him. Jack's also more concerned with gaining power, rather than thinking about what to do when he finally does gain said power.

  2. best leader is raulphy cause he trys to have everybody to be coopertive

worst leader is jack cause he trys to make seperate group and thiis makes it harrder for them to surviveon the island. please rate as best answer

  3. Overlying theme: people have an inherent evil inside. Civilization has tried to suppress this evil, but with mixed results.

Ralph represents the forces of civilization.

Jack, the head of the choir group, gets influenced by the inherent evil that is inside all (according to the author). Lord of the Flies refers to Beelzebub, which is a Hebrew (mocking) name for Satan.

The irony of the book is the boys descend into savagry at the same time the "civilized" nations are involved in a war.

This is an overview and possibly might get you through.

  4. Ralph is emblematic of reason and use of technological progress; he works to be rescued by building and maintaining a signal fire and is elected leader of what is essentially a primitive democracy.  He represents what is rational, orderly, and pragmatic in society.  Conversely, Jack is disaffected and chafes under Ralph's leadership until he forms a rival party of barbaric hunters who resent order or rule of any kind.  They are emblematic of what is innate to man, the primitive forerunner of civilization that is always at odds with the Apollonian elements of society.  To the extent that Ralph is more humane, compassionate, and evolved, he is the better leader, but Jack's threat of annihilation is ever present

  5. I have read the book

I think Ralph is the best leader in LORD OF THE FLIES  because he has compassion, charisma and uses Piggy wisely as an advisor.
