The love between two human beings?

Have you ever really thought about it?

I mean, REALLY thought about it.... about your partner?

Take a moment to think about past partners, current partners, husbands, wives, anyone who you've had the experience of what you would describe as LOVE.

Now, think about this.....

You, as 1 singular person... are, everything else aside... just a creature. A mammal if we're getting technical, but nontheless, just a creature on this planet.

Now isn't it just beautiful how you can feel so close, become completely content, share anything and everything with this 1 other human that you met?

You met him/her, and now you feel so close to this person, that lying in their arms, or lying with your arms around them just fills you with this undescribable sensation of love

I just think its incredible when you think, deep down, we're the same as a Lion or a Tiger.... (although those are bad examples seeing as they move onto a new mate when the time comes)

We have a mate, who we will love, respect and protect forever, when deep down inside, we all have these animal instincts, no matter how intelligent we are.

Dunno about you guys, or anyone else for that matter...

But try thinking about it tonight when you cuddle up to your loved one...

See if you can remember, that deep down... you're just two human beings that met on this planet, and now you have what you have together. Its beautiful!

There is something very safe and familiar with your thoughts on love. I thinks it's much bigger than just being mammals, though. It's the beauty of the universe.

Yes, I've thought about this many times.  I've been married for 41 years.  I suppose I should clarify that I've been married to the same man for 41 years.

My husband is my best friend and at the same time the most infuriating life form I've ever encountered.   He'd say something similar about me.

We made a commitment to one another that no matter how difficult things got, we'd work through problems and support one another.  It hasn't always been easy.  It has been worth the effort.

Romantic love is not simply the product of “animalistic instinct,” instead it is quite the opposite and, if you bear with me, I will show you how and why:

Consider, to start, the relationship between a mother and her first born (or any of her children for that matter). They spend nine months, on average, together in the most intimate of scenarios, wherein her body nourishes and cares for the developing person inside of her and, upon the birth of her child, she then cares for and coddles her newborn – the flesh from hers – and nourishes the child by way of breast feeding. Where such suckling may have been, at one time, meant to arouse, she is brought to great familial intimacy with her child. She loves her baby, not of animalistic instinct, but of genuine care and hope for his/her life. She sees her child becoming a doctor or a lawyer, successful and contented with life, yet if this was merely instinct, it would suit no other purpose than her gain, for instinct is that notion of self-preservation and self-gratification. The mother, the lover of child, decreases while her child increases and she does this with joy and, often, satisfaction.

Moving forward, just as the mother, the lover of child, sacrifices herself for the sake of the loved, the child, so to does she feel the same for those parents, from which she came. She is an adult now and her parents are aged and need help with the extraordinary tasks that come from life in the technological age. Her parents struggle with everything being so far from everything else and transportation being a lengthy, costly, and dangerous venture, so she takes her time to ferry them where they need to be – they cared for her out of love and she, in turn, recognizes their need and cannot heartlessly turn away from them because they are her loved ones, her family.

With this in mind, I would delve into the notion of love, specifically, what love actually is:

Love, in all things considered, is the feeling of attachment between the lover and the loved, where the loved becomes the necessity of life – the loved is the completing part of the lover’s life, which is often the implications in why people say to love God as first and utterly so. Just as the mother loves her child and just as she loves her parents, she too loves the Lord Jesus Christ for He was love personified through sacrifice; all of these are not products of animal instinct, but refined emotional attachment. The more we become acclimated to our boyfriend, girlfriend, mother, father, and even God, the greater emotional attachment we feel for them. So it would then follow that the romantic love felt for the companion is not simply animalist in nature, but necessity based for the loved becomes the necessary part of the lover’s life and ways, wherein life does not equate to sensible without them.

That has always been the definition of whom i want to marry [i'm single now] but that is what i see a husband is a mate. We do have animal instintcs: protecting our mate [for them is a form of love], feeding them, mating with them, procreating with them...Those are animal instincts...people seem to  use the term animal instincs  with direct correlation to the mentality of mating with every single female as possible. it's not true.

I love your question and wish i had a mate to go home to.

wow.. you know this really touched me , because i dont know many people who actually sit back and THINK about this, about how lucky they are to have somebody close to them who loves them and cherishes them...

and how much ,more love is , rather then just a act of marrige and having a family [ if that made sence] though that is important too.

But when you're lying there at night with somebody you love

its an amazing feeling i agree, like nothing else could matter more in this world.

I would really love for people to see how amazing it is , that the simple things matter

in my situation the person who i love is far away and you know , people dont see how much it hurts and how much torture it is , and they take love for granted

I alwats catch myself thinking how just breath taking and just uggggh i cant explain how good it feels..so good it can make you cry

I met my husband when I was 17 years old, married by 21, and had our first child by 24.  While we were young and immature, I knew he was my soulmate.  We have had our ups and downs but I wouldnt have it any other way or with anyone else.  Yes, he gets on my nerves like you wouldnt believe...but he is a part of me.  A part of who I am.  He has helped me see that true love is unrelenting, forgiving, and the greatest gift you could give someone.  A touch of a hand, a simple smile, or a look can make my day when I am down.  True love means being yourself around that person and that person accepting you for who you are...not for who they want you to be or expect you to be.  Just two human beings that met on this planet?  Maybe...but we are human beings with a great capacity to love and hate.  To be loved and to feel love is what makes us different from other mammals.  Loved your question!
