  1. for me it's not true...evil is caused by thirst of power, possesion, fool desire and others... but love and its power are the roots of all Good! :D

    kisses

  2. "the love of this world" well if by "world" you mean the earth I would say no that is not the root of all evil; this is a paradise.  I think the root of all evil is lust for money and power, greed etc.  You know like the Bush administration is/has been doing for the past 8 years.  Evil.

  3. Yes, i agree with the statement.

Loving the world would mean, being materialistic and ofcourse, when you so in love with material things, you will do anything to get what you want even if it means killing or stealing or black mail.

    Thanks for asking

  4. Inaccurate. Although, not necessarily wrong. In my opinion it is far to vague.

There are two issues I see with this statement.

1 - Evil is subjective. What you call evil others may see as good and vise versa.

2 - What do you mean "Love of the world"? Obviously 'Green peace' may believe that loving the world is a great and good thing. Others will assume that you are referring to materialism, so "Love of the world" means love of material objects and things. Buddhists may take this to mean attachment to anything at all, friends, loved ones, life even death. A Christian, or other theist my take this to refer to mortal life as opposed to spiritual life. A atheist may just think this absurd since what do we have other then this world?

So, it may be better to say, "To longing for materialistic pleasures is the root of all troubles."

After all, in my opinion, indolence, gluttony, bigotry & profligacy are among the leading causes of societies decline and all of these center on 'worldly' pleasures or points of view.

    Hope this helps.

  5. It could perhaps mean that the love of the world is usually the one thing that binds it from moving forward. Such as money, for example.

  6. Wrong.   The Love of Money is the root of all evil.

  7. I believe all who live in this world love, or need to love to live. The world therefore is a place not merely for living, but also for loving. Where else do we go to find love if not in the things chosen from the world we have, in people who we like, and in ideas the tapestry of which is woven, and inter woven, the realities of the world? I therefore would not knock the love of the world as the ‘root of all evils’ I would say instead that when we lack some discipline in loving, we grow futile and vain in our affair with the world.

As a matter of fact I believe that love of the world is the only thing that keeps us sane and happy with our lot, for if we would love nothing of the world we have we would go mad, or simply would die of boredom or with sense of utter alienation. But this is it, as I believe that there in our love of our world are contained possibilities of divine love, the love of God and His entire creation that we are but a part of.

I think it in our capacity to learn to love the world the way it should be loved best, with in view not only what it is for us now, but also what it could lead us to. The physical dimension of the world is what normally remains most obvious to people, and it is most likely for people to indulge into materialistic pursuits of their daily lives, but the salvation comes what we realised spiritual potential of our apparently physical love.

  8. Hello,

(ANS) The earth itself has No! emotions and therefore any emotions talked about are distinctly human.

**The love of the world is the root of all evil? No! this is a contraction in terms and makes zero sense.

**Both Love & Evil are human concepts or human constructs they don't exist otherwise.

**Love or Evil denote human behaviors or actions or intentions.

**Human beings are made up & include a rational mind with logical thought processes as well as completely illogical & irrational thought processes, including irrational fears & anxieties.

**The human psyche is "the" single most incredible thing in the entire universe in my opinion. It remains a complete mystery most of the time (thank goodness too in some respects otherwise we would all end up like robots or cloned robots?). The human psyche includes that light & the dark, love and the evil that comes out of the shadow bag.

**We ALL everyone of us has a shadow, please don't say I don't because your kidding yourself. does sunlight cast a shadow? The shadow bag contains ALL the negative emotions & words & ideas we would hold back for fear of hurting others or of remaining half civilized most of the time. The more someone represses their feelings into the unconscious self the bigger the shadow bag we each drag behind us (like a swag bag!). The shadow bag is kept tightly closed most of the time but alcohol loosens the strings that hold the bag closed and so after a few too many drinks the contents of the bag are let out. Hence so much violence after the pubs & clubs close. Think about this I think you will find its true.

**Evil is inside us as humans no where else!! Hitler or Saddam or Stalin were real human beings despite what they did too others. The only difference is their shadow's killed millions of innocent people when let out of the bag.

    Ivan.

  9. I can only answer this through my Christian Faith.  God is Love and Lucifer is against God, therefore against love.  We have victory over evil if we believe in Love.

  10. "money is the root of all evil"

    -THE HOLY BIBLE

  11. I believe the implication here is that of the material world.

There is nothing inherently evil in that. The love of world to the exclusion of everyone else is a root of evil though.

  12. I'd say there are many different forms of evil - and each form has potentially many different roots.

  13. I'm not sure if the world's evil, But it sounds coool

  14. Love of the world is what is missing right now. Love yourself and the EARTH

  15. If that is the extent of the statement then I disagree.  I love the world and I don't feel the least bit evil.  I love it that I can expierence all of the worlds beauty and variety but I also acknowledge that there are dangers in the world as well.  I feel that those who wish to posses the world are evil.  I feel that the world owns me and not the other way around.

  16. the love of the ego, would seem a better reflection to this one anyway.

  17. its close. the love of money is the root of all evil, and the world revolves around money.

look at the crimes and the root of them.

money. and if some say power, isn't money the power in the end.

look at the reality shows where people sign away their life for money and fame.

look at the paparazzi where people will do anything or say anything to anyone to get a story or money.

look at the gambling or lottery system where the biggest contributors to that don't have the money to do this and yet will buy a lottery ticket instead of healthful food for their kids in the hopes of making it big.

if the love of the world the root of all evil, it could be since its not love that makes the world spin anymore but how much money you have, or how you look.

I think you are on the right track.

  18. The root of evil comes from inside ourselves.

  19. Love is never root of all mali ..

Selfishness, the thirst for power, arrogance .. these are the roots that produce rotten fruit ...

If there is love .. would not have meant the very existence.

    We embrace

    Alba

  20. Sorry, sounds lame to me.  If  you had said money, greed, money, power, material things, then I would agree.

  21. I think it's wrong. Loveing the world is a positive thing. It's, as with all things, how you express that love. that can be the problem. Love of money or power I think, is the root of what we call evil. M.

  22. "Love", not being Love at all, when used as a tool, as a means to reach other goals, as a perfect excuse to mask petty emotions and dark plans, can become the root of evil.

Love, the true, the pure white bright Love, is the root of all Good.

  23. Sounds like a neo-christian misstatement. Christ said, "that if you love the world more than me, Meaning the things of the world, money and such, not the planet, there is no place in my kingdom for you."  God or who ever wrote the old testament tells us that we should care for our world and be a good husband to it. In otherwords, when the planet dies you die, and if you believe in all the good book says, then you will do what it says, but you must read and study for yourself not listen to anyone about anything, read it for your self. Spend time reading and less time watching TV, and jerry fartwell, has he went to heaven yet or not?

  24. great

  25. the world can not love, only living creatures can experience love, this is also for evil. if i should make some chocolate out of this i would say that neither love or evil exists.
