Question:

The madden curse lives on

ea sports tried to get rid of the so called "Madden curse" by putting, at the time, retired legend brett favre on the cover. all seemed well and ea sports thought they got the monkey off their backs. developments in the past month have come to prove that the madden curse in fact still lives on. Favre, a legend to the frozen tundra, is now being pushed out of town by the organization that he built, probably to go to another team and have a dismal season.

  1. its not just the madden curse. its another kind of evil called TED THOMPSON.

  2. Remember, the last Packer to appear on the Cover of Madden, Dorsey Levens, didn't come back the Packer that same season, because he was too old & the Packers didn't want him, history repeating it self, keep that in mind

  3. haha your so right, i thought wow since he is retired, the curse might be broken but i was sadley mistaken

  4. I disagree on several counts.

#1 Favre didn't build the Packers franchise - See a few guys named Lombardi, and Starr to start with. Favre's great but get it right.

#2 Favre's post Packers career is not doomed to be dismal. The guy can still play. His chance of success or failure has everything to do with where he gets traded and what type of offense they run. If it's not a total bottom feeder of a team (see Chicago) and they run a West Coast style of offense (see TB & Minn) he could guide that team to the playoffs.

I think Minnesotta would be Favre's top choice but the Packers would be insane to trade him there unless it was a Herschel Walker type of deal that they were getting in return. You don't make a divisional opponent better (unless you get the world in return). Favre would be a huge upgrade over Jackson at QB but despite what all the Viking fans want to think it isn't gonna happen. The 49ers have a better shot at the Super Bowl.

In all likelyhood I see Favre landing in Tampa Bay. Gruden loves QB's, he runs an offense which would suit Favre, and Tampa clearly isn't in love with Garcia. As good of a player as Garcia is, at this point he's just a very efficent game manager who isn't capable of a 20+ TD 3000yd season. Favre on the other hand is very capable of those type of #'s.

I'd say the Jets are a very distant 2nd in the Favre trade talks.

The Madden curse is bogus anyway, I wish Favre luck, and while it's a bit of a circus, he's a bit of a drama queen, so he is getting what he wants.

  5. i agree , he will most likely be traded to the bucs, and the curse will live on by favre getting hurt or someth like his consecutive sarts ends, somehow someway the curse always finds a way to live on

  6. yeah im happy they put no one on the cover from my eagles lol.
