The tilt lever keeps getting jammed in the up postition. I have to use a screwdriver to release it from the other side. Is the locking mechanism engaging because I use reverse? and how can I disengage it? Also is there a bolt on Johnson power trim/tilt setup for this motor?

  1. OMC made an aftermarket power tilt (no trim) to fit.  A company called CMC makes aftermarket TNT units, kinda pricey, probably cost more than the motor's worth.  Probably better off looking for a blown powerhead to part out, pretty much any 1970's thru 1980's 3-cylinder johnnyrude would fit -- probably later models, too I'm just not sure.  check e-bay, craigslist.

Sorry I don't know about the manual tilt lock, mine has the OMC tilt.
