what is the secret sauce made of?

It is true its a secret. Its basically like creating a sauce from scratch [meaning they don't use mayo or ketchup - they basically take ingredients like tomatoe puree powder and xantium gum, high fructose corn syrup, etc. and make their own concoction.

Here is a similar Do it yourself recipe found online. Its not gonna make your snadwich taste like a big mac though. its a combo of everything, and I think its really mostly the bread and meat that make a big mac taste like it does...

I dont recommend you make this, you probably will waste time and money trying to emulate something that doesn't even cost much to have a teenager make for you two blocks away.

    * 1/4 cup KRAFT Miracle Whip

    * 1/4 cup mayonnaise

    * 2 tablespoons, heaping, WISHBONE deluxe French salad dressing (the orange stuff)

    * 1/2 tablespoon HEINZ sweet relish

    * 2 teaspoons, heaping, VLASIC dill pickle relish (Heinz dill relish also works)

    * 1 teaspoon sugar

    * 1 teaspoon dried, minced onion

    * 1 teaspoon white vinegar

    * 1 teaspoon ketchup

    * 1/8 teaspoon salt

McDonald's Big Mac Sauce

1/2 cup mayonnaise

2 tablespoons French dressing

4 teaspoons sweet pickle relish

1 tablespoon finely minced white onion

1 teaspoon white vinegar

1 teaspoon sugar

1/8 teaspoon salt

1. Combine all of the ingredients in a small bowl. Stir well.

2. Place sauce in a covered container and refrigerate for several hours,

or overnight, so that the flavors blend. Stir the sauce a couple of

times as it chills.

Makes about 3/4 cup.
