Be sure to read a copy with a glossary and has the twenty-one chapters or just watch the film by Stanley Kubrick .

The term Clockwork Orange refers to forcing someone to act as an automaton as opposed to behaving naturally . Alex , the book's humble narrator , is subjected to the Ludovico technique which renders Alex unable to respond as he normally would with violence .

A fine book with moments of genuine humor .
