Because being a lorry driver the warehouses i go to have all come down to it, although the Government disagree. Perhaps they should come back from whichever planet they are on to see the state of the nation. But be warned they will claim expences even if none where occured.

  1. Its low now because the cost of living is so high ( well so it seems) but then making it higher would have reprocutions too. So.. it is what it is really. Some money is better then no money I guess.

  2. depends on the country xD

  3. The minimum wage is essential, otherwise employers would go well below it.

  4. I heard for the 6 to 8 month period after the day of the min. wage increase is best for Government employees.... and trickles down from their.... adventually the inflation of the dollar equalizes once again across all fields and disciplines of work.....

The 'equalization' soon allows groceries to go up in price, because supermarkets have to pay more for their unskilled worker so they rise the prices on milk, eggs, etc... and on it goes till the ratio of your monthly wages is the same or possibly a bit worse then before the min. wage increase...

Though I'm not an economy expert.... I would suggest if you need something of necessity food, water, shelter, etc... or some item that relates to such... to buy it now... for possibly after 6 months irregardless of the economy you may never have a greater earning to expense advantage as you do the moment wages go up, then when they equalize or begin to diminish after 6 months or so..

  5. minimum wage = good

Real median income in US has declined severely since 1970 while the wealthiest enjoy unprecidented income.

We need to redistribute wealth equitably and assure that every person in every country has adequate food and adequate medical care. We can do it, but I propose that this wealth come from the very top of the economic empire.

Thanks for GWB, it's the corporations and wealthiest individuals who are getting the biggest tax breaks. A minimum wage makes since even after talking to the "hired gun" economists.

  6. It was worse before we had it.

  7. good cus any money is better then nothing in a job.

  8. It depends on whether you're the employer or the employee.

  9. Good

  10. Very bad, i hate it. Cost of living is so high, but the wages are not.

  11. If you mean the British minimum wage, it's shamefully low.  Even increasing it to the £8/hour demanded by the TUC would not make it a living wage at present cost of living.

We need a radical redistibution of quality of life that recognises the value inherent in someone doing a socially useful job.  If that means making the barristers and bankers, stockbrokers and  and consultants pay their share at long last, I say bring it on!
