The mission will be accomplished this season: Mark Webber
No blow in life is big enough to shatter his dreams. The Red Bull driver Mark Webber, who lost a potential Championship last year, told the reporters earlier today that he wants ‘to get the job done this year’.
Although the driver met a very disappointing and dramatic 2010 season, still he stands firm and resolute for his goal, the World Championship. Webber led the points tally almost all through the year. Despite the tough challenges of the season and the differences
he had with the team, there was no stopping him. However, as the reason reached its final rendezvous, the Abu Dhabi Grand prix, battle ended for the racer far before the last lap of the race.
On the other hand, his team-mate Sebastian Vettel, who started off the race from the pole position, kept leading the caravan of cars all through the evening. Finally, his fifth race win of the year granted him the first Championship of his career, shattering
Webber’s dreams in the process.
However, as the Formula 1 rally now prepares to enter another exhilarating season, a reinvigorated Webber gets ready to finish the pending task this year. While answering a question, Webber told the reporters earlier today that he is completely over the
frustration of last year’s mishaps. He explained, “Life goes on and I don’t feel any regret. I lost the championship in the last race and over the whole season no one had a one-race lead over the other guys fighting for the title. Every race was alive. Even
if we'd had one more race after Abu Dhabi four guys could have still won the championship.”
2010 was quite a season. It will always be remembered as an incredible year when three top teams and five drivers indulged in a tight battle until the end of the rope. While recalling the events of the year Webber said, “It looked like nobody was the favourite
for the championship. Sebastian led it in one race. He did a great job and deserved the championship. Fernando (Alonso) drove incredibly well with the car he had and I also had some special moments myself. There’ve been a lot of great moments for me, but of
course I didn’t get the jackpot. But I am still very proud of what happened.”
Although, many of the race experts believe that Webber has had the best season of his career last year, but the Australian insists that his best is yet to come.
