Is it really that hard to believe? I can explain some of the phenomena that is bothering you. The stars couldn't be seen because the surface of the moon was so bright it washed out the weaker light of the stars (similar to light pollution in a city). As for the flag, when it was unfolded it was pulled by the astronauts, causing a back and forth motion that looked like waving (there was no atmosphere to slow it down). Finally, if you want absolute proof that we in fact did land on the moon, there is an experiment still being done today in which a laser is shot at mirrors that were placed on the moon during the landing and is beamed back in order to determine how far the moon has moved. I think you can see it using a strong telescope.

I don't believe we landed on it.  I think that it was a conspiracy my the government to ruin the soviet's moral during the cold war.

Some of the less convincing evidence that we didn't was the odd shadows,  the waving of the flag, and a copy write 'c' on one of the rocks on a picture taken.  These can be pretty easily disproved.

Evidence that is harder to disprove is the radiation field around the earth, the video of the earth during the mission, and ability to even take pictures with the astronauts suits.

Are we to believe that those astronauts passed through the radiation field around the earth with such little protection without any harm?  The rocket they were in was made out of very crude materials that would not have shielded them from the radiation.  Astronauts on a  shuttle that got near the radiation belt related that there was a horrible effect from the radiation as they got remotely near it.  

There was a very convincing demonstration as how the earth was "viewed" during the video on the way to the moon.  They showed how a picture of the earth was simply held up so it looked like they were viewing the earth from the trip.

There was also an experiment done with using replicas of the cameras on the astronaut's suits and the ability to move with the suits.  They showed that in the moons environment with the bulkiness of the suits and the position of the cameras on the suits it would have been impossible to function the cameras, let alone aim to take the such perfect photos that were released.

They also took the film of the astronauts walking on the moon, and if you speed it up it just the astronauts walking normally.  It looks like they just put the film in slow motion to make it look like they were in a low gravity environment.

The media at the time was pretty good with color film. With such an important milestone, why would nasa use such shoddy video and film to capture the landing and pictures of the moon?

They did tests on the famous lunar rock they recovered, and it showed that it was from a meteor or from earth itself (sorry i dont remember which one it was).

We also did so little research before we supposedly went to the moon.   No practice runs with animals, nothing.  Would our government really go through such risk with ppl without doing  sufficient trials before hand?  And what are the chances that with such inexperience and lack of research that we would exceed in getting to the moon on the first try?

I believe that it is Buzz Aldrin that refuses to say that we actually ever went to the moon.  In one interview he says that "the truth will come out in future generations".  It is also rumored that he punched someone that repeatedly asked him if he had really gone to the moon.

And why haven't we been to the moon in such a long time?  Nasa says that we don't have the technology.  We don't have the technology NOW when we did in the 60's? It just doesn't make any since.

Again, there are many experiments that disprove everything that happened during that mission and show how everything could have been faked.  You can find tons of stuff on this on the internet

It was obviously real.  Analysis of the movement of objects in the footage (especially dust particulate kicked up by the rovers) shows that it was filmed in a vacuum and in 1/6th normal earth gravity.  No vacuum chamber exists that is anywhere close to big enough to drive a rover in, and there's no way to alter gravity to film something.  It's literally IMPOSSIBLE to film that footage on earth.  The ONLY place that makes sense is the moon.

To film it on earth NASA would have had to build a vacuum chamber many times bigger than anything on earth, and place it in an airplane many times bigger than any plane ever built, and fly parabolic arcs to simulate to gravity.  So why didn't anyone see a gigantic plane flying strange arcs in the sky?  And where did it take off and land from?  No airport exists that could handle a plane that size.

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about.  It has nothing to do with the atmosphere, it has to do with the contrast.  In order to take a photograph of something as bright as the surface, the stars are too dim to make out.  It's like trying to take pictures of stars from the inside of a lit up football arena.  It doesn't work.

Wind isn't the only thing that causes cloth to wave.  Hold a towel up in your kitchen and wave it wide to side.  Notice it's waving.  Notice there's no wind.  Whoops, there goes your whole idea.

The flag was waving because of the motion put into it by the astronauts unrolling it, and then angular momentum imparted on it via the astronauts twisting the pole into the ground.

If you intend to be ignorant and believe a stupid conspiracy theory instead of learning something, that's your choice.  The idea that it's a cover up because they 'found something' on the moon is even more retarded than the idea that we never went.  But there is no 'belief' that we landed on the moon, it's a fact supported by tons of evidence.  (Literally tons, the rocks recovered are chemically different from anything found on earth and have been verified by independent labs around the world.  There are no rocks in antarctica that match the chemistry of the moon rocks.)  Any intelligent person knows we landed on the moon.

It is not flying. the flag is sticking straight out. they used a metal rod to make it stick out like that and the fluttering was caused by the flag shaking. Plus if there really were wind there would be sand blowing and since there is not it proves that it is in a vacuum. So to answer your question, YES WE DID LAND ON THE MOON.

We clearly landed on the moon. there in no chance that it was faked. Plus the USSR would really have wanted to be the first there. So if there was any doubt they would have announced this to the world. but since they did not say anything that proves that we landed on the moon.

I think it was the Discover Channel that took all the "issues" one by one and exposed why and what happened the way it did.

They used the "hoax" film and actual footage of the landing and explained what the differences were.

Could Apollo 13 explosion been fabricated.  Possibly.  I saw the movie.  It was good.

Why wouldn't you believe it?  I know only believe half of what you see and  none of what you hear but what an awesome time in history.  To not believe in such a ground breaking event - One small step for man . . .

I refuse to believe it is all a hoax - I was only 5 but it is the first historic event I remember - it seem all the historic things to remember are bad - JFK & Bobby K - assassinations, Oaklahoma City Bombing, Columbine, 9/11 - lets try to keep the positive ones in place.

The most convincing answer?

In 1969 the US and the Soviet Union were locked in intense international battle, based on continued one-upmanship in all fields, economic, social, scientific, sports.  The moon landings were an immense win for the US in that battle.  

The Soviets were fully capable of following the moon landings the entire time the craft were off the earth.   Simple logic says that if the Soviets had even an inkling something was being faked, they would have screamed the news to the world.  They did not, because the entire voyage was real, did happen as advertised, and nothing was faked.

Gee, I've just finished talking (in another answer) about people who have revived the Moon-hoax hoax as a way to undermine people's confidence.

Some of the hoaxers are pagan wanting to regain the right to brainwash kids (to increase the number of pagans).

Some are simply interested in keeping people ignorant (how many 2012 books could they sell if people were not so ignorant of science matter?).

Some are "mind-terrorists" wanting to soften the population and get them used to the fact that we are not as good as we thought.  Not all terrorism is done with bombs.
