I'm 21 and for the past 13 years of my life I read books and different materials. I love to read books and I have a vast of interest about many things. The problem is the more books I read, the more information and ideas I get, I realized how little information I have and I know about something. It drives me to read MORE and MORE books and different materials (documentary movies, experience, magazines, Internet etc.). The more I realize I'm dumb with the things I feel strong about. I feel that acquiring knowledge is as vast as the Pacific ocean. I feel that there is a big web that connect different knowledge together. Like you need to know this and that to fully understand this or that. For me knowledge is an endless and a never ending process. What do you think guys?

  1. LOL, that is a very interesting concept and I think it is great that you have opened your mind to new ideas and knowledge.

I however wouldn't call you dumb, perhaps uneducated, but not dumb. When you learn more you know more and you do more to expand your thinking.

Hopefully you will act on this new knowledge to help others learn and grow. Keep an open mind to change but don't believe everything. Read, think, and make up your own mind.

The only thing that will always stay the same is change, lol.

Next read "The Golden Compass" by Pullman. It's a higher thinking kind of book... and fun too.

If you want something serious then read "Stone Butch Blues" by Leslie Feinberg.

    Peace.

  2. One teacher once said: the knowledge is like a pea: the bigger the pea gets, the bigger the unknown around it becomes.

I totally agree with that. I am s o unfortunate to be doomed to unknown!! I think I read [and think] way too much =]

  3. I know exactly how you feel.  When I was very young and had little knowledge and limited life experience, I thought I knew it all!  Then I began to study, and suddenly realised the enormity of my ignorance.  The more I read, the more I realised how little I knew, and how much more there was out there.  You're not dumb at all - I'd say the opposite for realising this.  It can be frustrating, though; I've been held back from things due to my lack of knowledge, like writing novels when I've come up against something I found I knew nothing about!

As Socrates said, "The only thing I know is that I know nothing" (there are variations, one being something like, "The more I know, the more I realise how little I know").

However, in your quest for knowledge, you'll be surprised when you find out how much you do know, and how much information and understanding you've soaked up.
