The more trained your muscles in your legs are desto faster you can run?

is this true or false? I mean getting your legs in shape with weights without cardio.

  3. You actually HAVE to run to become faster. Having larger muscles doesn't mean a thing if you haven't practiced running.

    I should know; I take track and field at the school and there is this huge guy who's a football player. He's not fat, just very built, but since he plays as tight end he's never really had to do any running.

    I beat him in a race by at least 15 seconds in a sprint. So no, muscles will only keep you in balance and shape, but you need to actually run to become faster so your body can become used to it.

  4. You need a specific kind of strength to be fast. Support force is needed to keep from collapsing at the ankle/knee at ground contact and is mostly isometric. You also need to run short top speed sprints to apply the elastic qualities of strength to sprinting speed.
