  1. They want to make sure it's not just residual pain from the surgery, and the swelling in the morning implies that fluids gathered while you sleep are pressing on nerves. However, you sound like you have an infection because your ear and throat are involved. Call back to the hospital, explain your symptoms again, tell them you suspect an infection and insist that you want an antibiotic in your system BEFORE the end of the week. In the U.S., usually they expect you to come back for a visit before they'll prescribe medication, and you may have to go back in, so be prepared.

There's no reason to suffer needlessly.

  2. If it hurts that bad and it is giving you problems with your ear and your throat, you most likely have a dry socket. Go to the doctor and they can give you some medication to put in the hole that will almost instantly relieve the pain.

  3. You need to go to the doctor immediately and insist that you be seen NOW. You have a dry socket and there is no reason for you to suffer as they can pack it with a numbing stuff that tastes like cloves and takes away the pain. Please don't wait. I know how you feel as I have been there.
