  1. I  like the Languedoc area.

It has coast, mountains, lakes, history, and ................. 300+ days of sunshine each year. It is also quieter & cheaper than Provence & Cote d'Azur.

  2. For me the place to see in the close area is Collioure. A small town on the shore very close to the Spanish border...

According to me one of the most beautiful place to spend the day... Blue sea, palm trees, very colorful small houses and delicious wines (Collioure and Banyuls, absolutely delicious with chocolate).

If you like the area and are interested in Arts, you can also folllow the wild coast and head to Cadaques in Spain (were Dali lived) and surrounded by a natural park.

  3. What about Landes, or Basque country? You can find very nice villages close to Dax, Biscarosse. Also, there is a Ryanair daily flight to Biarritz, so you could visit the region cheaply.

The winter in the region is warm, the spring is beautiful, people are very friendly, and you will see the typical French lifestyle. Have a look and you won't be disappointed.
