i now there are plenty of museums, unfortunatelly visiting them is expensive, like 20 euro for one person for visiting a single museum. so i want to plan in advance where to go and what to see.

i would like to visit two museums and i'm interested in arts, but i'm open for suggestions. i'm thinking about museum of painter Vincent van Gogh, what else should i see?

  1. I've never been, but my dad went and he loved the Van Gogh museum, so you should definitely do that.  Also, even though it doesn't have to do with art, I would want to see the Anne Frank house (attic).  I don't know how much that costs, but I'm sure it'd be worth it.

    Have fun!

  2. If you love museums then you really will love Amsterdam and indeed it's a shame if you don't get to see them just because of the cost issue

What you can do is get a Museumkaart (museum card).  It costs €39.95 (€22.45 up to 24 years of age): . If you buy it one time then you can access about 400 museums throughout NL and 29 of them in the Amsterdam, so you are spoilt for choice, plus it lasts for a year so (depending on where you are from), if you come again within the year it is still valid

Here are the ones in Amsterdam you can access http://www.amsterdam.info/museums/museum... - This includes details of the price, where to get it etc as well, plus links to each of the museums with details http://www.amsterdam.info/museums/

This way (depending on how long you are here), you can visit all of them if you want and don't have to choose!

The Van Gogh & Rijksmuseum are the most popular ones for art-based museums (if you don't have time for more than two)

  3. You should definitely visit Van Gogh museum. It costs about 10 euro but it's worth visiting it. It's quite small, so in within 1h and a half you'll be ready.  You can also visit Rijksmuseum where you could see some paintings by Rubens, Vermeer and Rembrandt amongst others. It's next to the Van Gogh museum, in the Museum plein. Good luck.

  4. The Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum are the two musts.  The Rijksmuseum has many of the greatest paintings from the Netherlands' "Golden Age", when it was the richest place in Europe, and also has a large and fascinating exhibit on Dutch history.
