Have you seen the one where two people are in wendy's eating their food and the girl asks the guy if he wants a wendy's salad too and he said sorry he was a meatetarian and he had to commit to it as he was eating a bacon, beef, cheese sandwich. Is this the worst anti-good health commercial in the world or what? Oh god all the clueless kids will try going "meatatarian after seeing it. And then they'll die of diabetes or something from not eating vegetables.

  1. I'm vegetarian and I don't think it's any big deal. Just another commercial with a silly joke trying to sell some product. So what else is new.

A lot of kids are going to get fat and develop diabetes whether we have this commercial or not.

  2. Anyone who thinks that an all meat diet causes diabetes should not be giving nutritional advise or complaining about inaccurate diet suggestions on TV commercials

Eating meat only is no more dangerous than the veggie only diet so many here seem to advocate

And it's a commercial if a kid is too stupid to get it he deserves his diabetes and if the parents are too stupid to make sure the children they are responsible eat well they deserve the medical payments

  3. The problem is, people who eat that junk (6 strips of bacon, double cheese, two patties etc) with 1800mg of salt, 1000 calories, saturated fat etc are a major strain on the health system. Heart attacks, high blood pressure, etc caused by these foods. Who do you think has to pay for that? Me and you. I hope you enjoy these junky burgers and fries and milk-shakes. Some people treat their cars with better respect than their own bodies. Sad.

  4. I thought it was funny.... :)  Come on, if someone is dumb enough to think that's ok from a hamburger fast food ad they're going to have lots of problems, anyway.

  5. its obviously stupid but it was a little funny the first time i saw it.  i mean there are vegetarians who do act that way. like "I'm a vegetarian!", but yes very stupid.

  6. I have not seen it, but I heard about from VeganDad's amazing blog, it quite sad and sickening, whoever thought of that commercial clearly has eaten too much meat and their brain has become fried.

  7. If I ate that thing i'd probably have a heart attack and die!!!

Looks like a heart attack on a bun, probably is a heart attack on a bun!

  8. Ugh, gosh I know. And there is like 6 pieces of bacon on that nasty sandwich. He might as well just go out and eat a pig, lol. It is just gross.

  9. What do you expect from one of the leaders in fast food? The only good thing is meatatarians die young. <-my bad :-)

  10. No it is not. Advertising is used to attract attention and even in your case, it did. Every non vegetarian person you complain this to will now know about or remember Wendy's even if they did not see the commercial. You actually did them a favor. One poster said ad people are not very smart. At least they got paid for it. You did it for free!!

Do vegetarians who actually believe there is a Jolly Green Giant somewhere who cans veggies? Why would non vegs be stereotyped into believing every non veg commercial? Isn't negative stereotyping what many veggies complain about?

  11. lol good try at being dramatic. you made me el oh el at 'die of diabetes' i would think they should worry more about their cholesterol with the meatatarian diet.

i haven't seen it yet, but i can take a joke. i bet i will think its funny.

p.s. Wendy's food is pretty freakin nasty.

  12. OK get off your vegitarian high horse....  People will make choices to whether or not they want to eat meat or not.  You should not judge those who eat meat.  Why can't people make choices for themselves instead of everyone trying to put their .02 worth in?

  13. ugh i felt insulted after watching that commercial. its soooo stupid!

  14. He says he only eats meat.... but if you look...

hes also eating bread and cheese!!!  LIAR!!!

  15. OH MY GOODNESS. I hate those "meatatarian" commericals! They are so stupid. NOBODY CAN EAT ONLY MEAT.

Everytime I hear them on the radio I just feel disgusted. It's so ridiculous. Wendy's is clearly trying to brainwash people into buying their disgusting food and it's so unhealthy.

  16. I saw it, I actually felt a little offended, b/c I thought they were obviously making fun of vegetarian's, particuarly b/c the guy said I'm a "meatarian" all high and mighty sounding like, so many people seem to think us vegetarian's are.

  17. ...let them. it doesnt mean you have to follow. its just an ad, get over it.

  18. well first off i dont give a c**p about the person in the commerical.

i hope he dies. hes going to be fat and stupid. what i care about is the pig and cow in the meat. you know those animals are living to and if you guys who smash veggitarians would do your reserch you'd probably become one too. the animals are abuse beaten and torchered. i'm not saying meat should be illegal or something i'm saying the way we treat the animals is wrong and should  be changed. yeah that commerical was deffinatly a stab at veggitarains and thats stupid whats the point? i'm not on a "high horse" i'm no better then you so dont form oppions about people you dont know, i'm just saying that eating meat is mostly wrong in the industry today and you people should not  be so harsh on someone that you know accualy cares about something besides themselves. if you dont like the question why answer it? your wasting your own time just to be a %$#@#()#.

  19. What can we expect from Wendy's.  I remember when the little lady was saying "where's the beef" and everyone thought she was cute.

What non-vegetarians don't understand is this commercial is mocking vegetarians.  Since fast food marketing is targeted at males between the age of 18 and 35 they are appealing to them.  Throw some bubba sarcasm in and wait on the fellas to bite.

Main stream medicine strongly advises everyone to eat vegetarian meals at least a couple days a week for health reasons.  Restaurants should recognize that many people are trying to do that and have a few menu items (besides iceburg lettuce) for those who prefer a healthier meal.

I grew up where we ate what we grew and what Daddy hunted.  My Dad never killed without sorrow and blessed the animal for it's sacrifice to feed his family.  He killed humanely and with respect.  Many of us are vegetarians now because the factory farms are horrible and the animals are abused terribly.  Meat carries with it the stress hormones and residue of the horrible existence, fear, and suffering these animals endured.  Bubba needs to get out of Wendy's and learn to humanely and respectfully provide his own meat if he needs it and then we'll call him a man.

  20. at least the girl was on the right side of the road - eating something really healthy - the sandwich the guy was eating was really bad for the body, it could've given him a heart attack with all that fat.

  21. The thing that I think is the funniest about fast food commercials is that the people shown eating the food are always fit and beautiful, which is usually not the case.

  22. All of them are stupid. =)

  23. When I eat a hamburger, I don't go to Wendy's or any similar place. There are places (including my kitchen) where one can get a burger made of high-quality beef, so that it doesn't have to be drowned in some sauce to disguise the fact that is it (a) dry (b) tasteless (c) vanishingly small.

Start with 1/3 - 1/2 lb good ground beef, grill it so it's rare on the inside and nicely charred on the outside, and serve it with a slice of onion and a salad and quality fries on the side. (Cheese optional - I sometimes like a thick slice of Roquefort.)

  24. at least the salad made the commercial. what can you expect from wendys in all honesty?

  25. Thank you Wendy's!

Now I finally have proof of mainstream use of the word "Meatatarian" and can introduce it to Wiki as an actual word!

  26. I do not think that it is any more stupid than any number of other ads.

  27. YA! I saw that one! You are right this could cause problems...You could always phone wendys and complain about it!!! I guess some  people doing advertisments dont have brains!
