eg I would have to say my milk crate is pretty handy, although not technically made for horses. I have adopted it as one of my most used and treasured barn items! what about you?

  1. Milk crates, traffic cones, drainpipes. The stands from water butts.

    reflective clothing.

    Craft knife.

Edit - Knew I'd forgot some really basic stuff - big metal cabinet I keep the rugs in, dustbins I keep the feeds in and a spare wheelie bin that holds all the spare hoses and general "stuff" !

  2. 44 Gallon Drums - you can use them as barrels, jump fillers, jump stands, arena markers etc.

I mostly use mine for horse feed (they were originally used to transport pineapple pieces, so they are safe).

Milk crates can be used for most of the above too, except for horse feed - obviously!

  3. The huge chest freezer in my barn where I store 500 pounds of horse feed at a time. The little chest freezer that stores my supplies. Both are pest and dust free. The 50 gallon drums we use for everything, milk crates are a must have, the rechargable drill I can't manage without, baby cloth diapers for all sorts of stuff but especially grooming. I loved my little riding lawn mower with trailer, but it died and hasn't been replaced...I really miss it! The Land's End down vest that serves as a foal blanket if we have one born during a blizzard.

  4. I am going to agree with some posters:

wheelbarrel** B.B. It does do it's fair share of work!! LOL Love mine, too!!!

    duct tape

    huge plastic drums/barrels

    wire

    hooks

    rake

    pliers

That is all I can think of for now.... LOL

  5. My wheelbarrow...

Carries a 125 pound bale from the truck to the shed...can't get close enough to just throw them in...

    Moves p**p...

Carries all my fence fixing supplies all over the pasture...

Can untack 2 horses at one time and 'wheel' the tack to where it belongs...

Moves 4-6, 50 pound feed bags at a time...

Handy 'bucket' for when I am digging persistent weeds out of the pasture...carries my tools and the stupid weeds...

Too many uses to list...LOVE THE WHEELBARROW!!

  6. For me it is my little tip trailer and ride on lawn mower. When we got the rideon lawn mower I thought it was the best thing to ever come out the back of a horse float - it has never once thrown me off!

So this combination of lawnmower and trailer are used most days for picking up the horse poo, moving jumps all sorts of little jobs that used to be so labour intensive for me. I love my little trailer and ride on mower. BUT NOT AS MUCH AS MY HORSES!

  7. ductape.... comes in many colors and is a great quick fix for almost anything. . . and it comes in travel size (can fit around you're arm).

  8. Diapers - great for bandaging , wrapping feet, etc. Traffic cones are good too. K-Y jelly for sheath cleaning?

  9. Duct Tape!!!
