The motor on my Sanyo

Question

The motor on my Sanyo Mini-Fridge goes out every 3 to 4 days. The previous surge protector it was plugged into shorted, and I think that may have something to do with it. What is wrong? It will work fine for 3 to 4 days then the motor will continually try to start, but will never fully turn on. I have to leave it unplugged for about a half hour, then I plug it back in and it works.
