The mouse on the computer isn't opening up links when i click on them?

The mouse won't open up the links, such as pictures, and on here it wouldn't let me click on 'ask'. When i point on something i want to open up, the hand doesn't appear. I have no idea how this happened and i really don't know how to fix this. Can someone please help!? thanks.
