The name Holden for a boy?

I love the name Holden due to its relation to the actor William Holden (Sunset Boulevard, Sabrina are both amazing movies everyone should see) but figure everyone will think I'm using the name due to its relation to "Catcher in the Rye". Is the name so closely related to the book that no one will consider another option and will they just think I'm being pompous by using the name for its literary roots? Is the name too dark for a little boy? Holden Caufield isn't exactly the happiest character.

Holden is a nice, strong, masculine name, yet somehow is very cute for a little boy. It will age very nicely. I do not associate it with any actor or book character. The likley nickname is Denny.
