The name of a pirouette-like turn?

ok, so I'mm trying to practice for dance class. i came to look up how to do this turn thingy and i cant remember the term. I've looked everywhere! so, what is the name of the dance turn where you hold youre leg out at a right angle?

  1. Its either an alasecond turn (leg to the side) or and arabesque turn (leg to the back.


  2. An attitude? Leg raised bent at 90 degrees

  3. In gymnastics it is called a full turn with leg at horizontal.  A lot of dance and gymnastics terms mix together, hope this helps!

  4. a la secconde turn is what i think you are thinking of. The leg is help at a 90 degree angle on the side of you.

  5. grande pirouettes? arabesque turn? i would imagine you are referring to grande pirouettes; when you (usually) do turns with your leg in second at a 90 degree angle.

  6. It is either a pirouette a la seconde, or a fouette turn, or maybe an arabesque turn.
