The name of glass sphere used in fishing?

I'm searching for the name of glass sphere used in fishing in the past ? It's completely transparent glass and empty from inside. Whats its name?

I know them as just glass floats. The fisherman of Japan and other far east countries used them to keep nets afloat. I've heard stories from fellows that collected them years ago on the U.S. west coast when they would wash ashore. Different sizes and many colors, some quite valuable.

They are not made out of glass, they would break on rocks etc.

They are made out of clear plastic

They are used for stealth fishing ,over wary fish.

They look like a natural bubble on the water.
