has anyone else read or heard about whether or not they will be running the nascar crew chief race again this year, where they race in thunder roadsters? last year was the inaugural event during the pre-race show (see the nascar.com link below), but i haven't seen or heard anything about it for this year. if it is happening, does anyone know when?

here's the nascar.com page:

http://www.nascar.com/2007/news/headlines/cup/04/06/crew.chief.race.all.star/index.html

here's last years feature event:

last year they had a bunch of current crew chiefs, and andy petree, jeff hammond, and larry mcreynolds. andy petree won, chad knaus was second...

if they're having it, who would like to see in it? who would you like to see win?

  1. It looks like the burnout competition will take it's place. I really want to see that. One driver who's name was not released said he was going to write his car number. I think it is Clint Bowyer, he hinted it.

  2. Replaced with Tire Smoke!

  3. No crew chief race this year, it looks like a burn out competition instead.  That is what the lowes motor speedway website says.  It is a shame though I really enjoy the thunder roadsters, I watched the replays of the summer shootout series over the winter on speed.
